GTTSE
GTTSE is a week-long biannual summer school held in Portugal at Hotel da Falperra near Braga. It strives to bring together senior researchers who give long multipart tutorials on the topics of their expertise, and junior researchers (mainly PhD students) who participate in a workshop presenting their extended abstracts. The school successfully combined high profile tutorialists and a highly intensive programme with an informal mood in a relaxed environment.
Organisation
- GTTSE is a Summer School on Grand Timely Topics in Software Engineering
- In 2005–2011, GTTSE used to be a Summer School on Generative and Transformational Techniques in Software Engineering
- The core team of GTTSE organisers consists of Ralf Lämmel, Joost Visser and João Saraiva
- GTTSE took place five times: in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2015. The 2017 edition is on the way
- At GTTSE 2005, I gave a presentation and got an abstract in the pre-proceedings
- I missed GTTSE 2007 due to bureaucratic reasons (couldn’t get the passport renewed on time)
- At GTTSE 2009, I gave a presentation, displayed a poster, got an abstract in the pre-proceedings, as well as the full paper in the post-proceedings
- At GTTSE 2009, I also played the role of a web/wiki admin and won the Most Active Participant award
- At GTTSE 2011, I played the role of a Publicity Chair
- GTTSE 2011 was colocated with SLE 2011 and ITSLE 2011
- In 2013 GTTSE was on hiatus
- GTTSE 2015 happened in the same location in August 2015 with a slightly different agenda
- For GTTSE 2015, I played the role of a Publicity Chair and ended up being one of the post-proceedings co-editors
